Star Throwers family who love fast cars and bikes enjoy “amazing” experience day 

On Tuesday 13th August 2024, we welcomed Rebecca Attoe, her son Alfie and his girlfriend Amie to an experience day at Giving Days. 

It was an emotional day as Rebecca surprised Alfie with the experience as he loves cars and also used to race grass track bikes, competing around the country. Rebecca has breast cancer and Alfie, 15, helps care for her, so it was wonderful to give them a day they will never forget. 

The family have been supported by Star Throwers, a cancer support charity based in Norfolk dedicated to supporting people affected by cancer, from diagnosis through to life after cancer.

Alfie’s favourite car was the BMW M5, which he enjoyed going for a ride in!

Rebecca said: “What an amazing morning and lunch we had with you all – wow seeing that smile on Alfie’s face made my year and seeing those cars he loves and bikes meant so much to us. Amie loved it and being both car enthusiasts and driving in them was a dream come true to them both, and myself. I had the best time you were all so kind and I will remember this. Thank you again – we are still all smiling.”

Star Throwers provides cancer information sessions to help people become well-informed about their cancer and all their treatment options.
